We regularly heat treat to ASTM, AMS, SAE, AGMA, AWS, and DIN specs. Failure Analysis
Cincinnati Steel Treating (CST) offers failure analysis services for our customers. We have a fully equipped metallurgical laboratory capable of sectioning parts, mounting and polishing samples, measuring chemistry, performing stereoscopic analysis, carrying out hardness traverses, and conducting mutiple types of etching procedures. Our breadth and depth of experience with heat treatments gives us a deep base of knowledge to draw upon when conducting failure analysis. Our reports can be used to supply you with background information when dealing with vendors, or they can assist in product development in helping to determine the optimum process to use when treating your part.
